Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could enable the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
