The artist has given the complete sum of his £25k award prize money to the trust for venues, which works to save the Britain's independent live music spots.

He was presented with the cheque on mid-October as his latest record his work was declared the outstanding release of the last 12 months.

He has chosen to donate the funds to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the essential function local spots played in his initial steps.

"As an artist couldn't be pursuing my current career if it wasn't for all the gigs I did around the region, and beyond, when I was just getting going," said Sam Fender. "These venues are legendary, but they are struggling."

Beginning in 2023, more than 150 of these venues have shut down – approximately 16 percent of the entire UK sector.

Over the past year, top acts including the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the trust in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by adding a minor surcharge to their ticket prices, which benefits local stages.

Sam Fender also took part, generating over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to support 38 small stages across the UK.

The donation assisted locations that were dealing with potential shutdown due to difficulties arising from floods, fire incidents and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, legal disputes and neighbor objections.

Some locations obtained monetary aid in modernizing amenities and technical equipment that positively impacted artists and concertgoers.

"The notion that funds from concerts in large arenas backs the independent spots, where it begins for artists like me, is just common sense," Fender has commented.

Two years ago, they contributed their funds to the youth organization that developed their group, in addition to other independent music bodies.

Additionally winners that year they gave their winnings to a charity for MS after a close contact was identified with the disease.

"Winning was ample," stated singer the singer. "The cash was the extra but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the cake. So our success affected somebody else's life."

In the past week, the MVT revealed it had protected a couple of small stages in the South East, by bringing them into local control.

One venue in Southampton and The Croft in that location were bought under the public acquisition program, which is supported by a national body and music fans who purchase "ownership units" in the properties.
